Vingrau Route

Park in the stadium car park.

(S/E) As you leave the car park, turn left onto Rue Maréchal Joffre (D12). Turn left towards Tuchan.

(1) Take the small tarmac road on the right for a long, more or less steady climb.

(2) At the junction, turn right.

(3) At the fork in the road at the top of the small tarmac road, follow the road to the left.

(4) At the end of the road, turn left onto a wide dirt track. Pass the ruined house of Cortal d’en Domenge on your right and you’ll come to a junction.

(5) Be careful: ignore the wide track that starts on the left, but a few metres further on, don’t miss the small path also on the left. Follow the signposting carefully. This is where the first ‘technical’ section begins.

(6) End of the first technical section. Continue along the dirt track until you reach the main road.

(7) Turn right and follow the road for about 200 metres.

(8) Leave the road. Take the wide dirt track on the right. Pass a water tank on your left. Further on, ignore a path on the left and carry on to the next junction.

(9) Carry on to the left. Join the road again and follow it to the right for about 40 metres.

(10) Take the dirt track on the right and stay on it, keeping in the same direction.

(11) Carry on straight ahead, ignoring the path on the left which leads to cultivated land.

(12) Leave the wide track. Turn left onto a footpath. This is where the second technical section begins. The descent is quite steep in places with plenty of stones… Take care!

(13) Turn right onto the road to enter Vingrau. Turn right to return to the stadium car park (S/E).

For those who didn’t enjoy the first technical section, there is the option of returning to the village via the road from point (10) to avoid the second technical section.
