Fiumedinisi Castle Lookout

There is a car park on Via San Francesco, located near the start of the walk, but it has a limited number of spaces.

(S/E) From the car park, take Via Anello del Nisi on the right.

(1) Turn left, after a chapel, onto a narrow lane which, a little further up, joins the tarmac road Anello del Nisi; follow this to the left until you reach a fork (alt. 325 m).

(2) Leave the return route on your right. Continue left until you reach a four-way junction.

(3) Ignore the Via Anello del Nisi and take the^{first path} on the right (Fiumedinisi Castello Belvedere). The track continues in this way, winding through several bends, until you reach a fork (alt. 565 m).

(4) Ignore the return path on the right. Continue leftwards, climbing towards the castle.

(5) A gate and a fence surround the castle grounds. The gate is simply secured with a latch to prevent sheep from passing through. Go through the gate and climb up a well-maintained path to the fortress.

(6) Head back to the junction you passed on the way there (alt. 565 m).

(4) Turn left, then head towards the junction you passed on the way there (alt. 325 m).

(2) Turn left to return to the car park where you started, following the route in the opposite direction to the outward journey (S/E).

There are no water points on the route.
