Worth a visit

(2) The waterfall is formed by the Röttleån, a river about 12 km long that flows down towards Lake Vättern with a significant total drop. The Röttle waterfall is around 12 metres high.

(3) Röttle is a former industrial village. The name comes from Rytlofors, “the roaring rapids”, first recorded in 1279. Over the centuries, the river’s energy has powered mills, workshops, a paper mill, metalworking activities and other facilities.

Just a few kilometres away, Gränna is also well worth a visit for its small-town charm on the shores of Lake Vättern and its famous tradition of making polkagrisar, the Swedish striped sweets.
