Circular route in the Forest of Boulogne starting from Neuvy

Start at the car park on the Route de Dhuizon behind the town hall and the school in Neuvy.

(S/E) From the car park, take the forest track (Route de la Suissière) towards the sawmill. Carry straight on at the junction after the sawmill and continue to the next junction.

(1) Carry on straight ahead along the forest road, passing L’Augellerie.

(2) Pass La Chauvinière, staying on the forest road.

(3) At the crossroads, leave the forest road by turning right, then go through the gate which opens onto a wide grassy track (ONF barrier: access permitted for pedestrians). Make sure you close the gate behind you. Stay on the track until you reach a junction with a tarmac track on the right.

(4) Leave the straight path, not by taking the tarmac path on the right which leads back to the starting point, but by turning right onto the grassy track (^GR®3C) that follows.

(5) At the junction with Allée François^1er, keep slightly to the right, then follow the clearly marked track to the next junction.

(6) Carry on straight ahead until you come to a hard-surfaced track that curves sharply to the right.

(7) When you reach the hard-surfaced track, keep to the right towards Les Héronnières, then continue along the grassy path, which will become a narrow track before widening out again.

(8) Turn right at the junction with the tarmac-surfaced Allée du Roi de Pologne.

(9) At the star-shaped Roi Stanislas junction, take the second road on the right, the stabilised Allée de Montfrault, at a right angle. The lane becomes tarmac as it joins the Impasse de Thoury shortly before the first houses in Neuvy, before returning to the starting point (S/E).

As the walk takes place mainly in woodland, it can be enjoyed in all seasons.

Neuvy Church, partly built of brick, is situated in the middle of the cemetery on the Route de Duizhon, just outside the village.
