Description of the walk

This is almost a circular route starting from the village of Sonkeng, 10 minutes by motorbike from the town of Fokoué, which is also accessible by 4x4 (at least in the dry season).

The trail is well marked for the entire climb as it leads to a few isolated farms on the mountain (Mbororo community, livestock farmers).

I use the term "almost loop" because I tried to make this route circular, but in the end it is not possible to descend by another route without ending up in very bushy areas.

Once on Zantou Peak, it is even possible to continue to the next small peak (300 metres further). The view from the ridge is very beautiful.

Notes

The route does not present any particular difficulties, but the first section is steep and the slopes are steep, hence the difficulty.

Without any major breaks and for a good walker, the route takes about 2½ to 3 hours.
