Description of the walk

Park in the car park of the village hall in Drevant.

(S/E) Walk about 200 m along the canal and you will arrive at the crossroads opposite the Gallo-Roman theatre site.

(1) After visiting the site, return to the crossroads and head towards the car park on the right. When you reach Rue du Forum, turn right and follow the main street through the village. Turn right and follow the street carefully until you reach the church. Turn right, then left twice, and follow the road to Colombiers. Turn right onto Chemin des Chireux.

(2) Turn left and continue straight ahead until you reach the D2144 road. Turn left and follow it carefully for about 50 metres, then cross it to join a path.

(3) Follow this path, ignoring the paths on the left and then on the right, and climb straight up to join the GR®41.

(4) Turn left onto the GR®, marked in white and red, and pass a group of houses at a cross. Continue until you reach a Y-shaped crossroads.

(5) Leave the GR® here and turn left onto a paved road. You will come out at the hamlet of Grand Tertre.

(6) Cross it and continue along this path until you reach the D2144.

(7) Cross it very carefully and take the street opposite called Chemin de Marigny until you reach the drawbridge over the Canal de Berry.

(8) Cross and follow the cycle path on the left along the canal. Continue at a leisurely pace until you reach the crossroads with the beach path.

(9) Go down this grassy path on the right until you reach a small sandy beach on the banks of the Cher.

(10) Go up the path on the left towards the canal. Then turn right onto the cycle route and continue to the bridge that crosses the Cher.

(11) Go under the bridge and then go back up to the Quai du Canal. Continue on to return to the car park at the village hall (S/E).
