Loop in the heart of Tuscany

A beautiful hike that really gives you a feel for the rolling landscapes of Tuscany around Buoncovento.
We did it in April in the rain and with quite a lot of mud, and despite everything it was a treat (although complicated on some of the descents. I recommend doing the route at a less muddy time of year...). With more time, it is possible to continue on to the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore.

Description of the walk

(S/E) Departure from the central square of this pretty village. After starting on a small road (it doesn't last long)...

(1) Turn right onto a beautiful path that gradually climbs towards a ridge. The route is simple.

(2) Turn right towards a beautiful farmhouse on a ridge, which you go around on the left. You then descend into a valley (very slippery when muddy 😉) and climb back up to a road that is only paved in places.

(3) There are no further problems with the route until Buoncovento, just enjoy the magnificent scenery.
