Description of the walk

Park near Nethen Church.

(S/E) With your back to the church, head straight ahead along Rue de Pecrot. After about 50 metres, take thesecond path on the left to visit the “Graines de Vie” vegetable garden. Retrace your steps back to the church.

(S/E) Turn right onto Rue de Bossut.

(1) At the junction you’ll soon come to, veer to the right, still on Rue de Bossut. Carry on straight ahead and ignore the streets on the left. Walk past the cemetery and, about 150 metres further on, you’ll reach a crossroads at the end of the street.

(2) Then turn left. After about a hundred metres, at a junction, turn right onto a path that leads into a small wood (Chemin du Paradis). Walk through the wood and continue east-southeast between the fields.

(3) At the crossroads (sign for the Ferme du Petit Royal), turn left and follow the path back towards the village. Note the sign for the Ferme Hermann Pirmez. Follow the dirt track, which turns into a paved path. You’ll come out onto Rue de la Cortaie; follow it to the right.

(4) You’ll come out onto Rue de Hamme-Mille (glass bottles on the right) and follow it to the left. When the road bends to the left (Centenaire Tree), turn right onto Chemin du Wez. At the Fork in the road, take the left-hand path, Chavée Bal. When the road ends at the top, take a narrow path on the right (difficult to navigate with a pushchair). Join Chemin de la Trace and follow it to the left.

(5) Leave the road and turn right into the future Sablière Natura 2000 Reserve. Walk through the woods, ignoring any paths branching off to the left. At the junction, turn left.

(6) Return to Rue de Hamme-Mille and follow it to the right. Cross the Chemin de Savenel on the right-hand side (grocery shop and bakery) and continue straight on.

(1) Turn right to quickly return to the church (S/E).
