The car park is located on Rue de la Plombière in the centre of Genilac.
(S/E) Go down Route des Arcs. After about 150 m, take the small staircase down to the left and join the road below. Go up the road to the right for about 30 m. You will then find a path on the left.
(1) Take this path down to the Durèze. Ford the stream or cross via the small bridge. Walk back up to the road.
(2) Take the road on the right towards Chagnon. I chose to follow this road to the village, but you can also take the path that descends towards the Durèze to arrive directly at the old bridge.
(3) At the entrance to the village, enjoy a lovely view of the church and the surrounding area. Pass in front of the town hall, then take the street on the right that leads down to the church. Continue on to the bridge.
(4) Pass under the bridge and follow the road for about 100 metres. On your right, you will find the path that leads up to the priest's cellar.
(5) Go up it and quickly find a path on your right. Follow it for about 100 metres and you will discover the exit of the priest's cellar.
Retrace your steps and continue along the path to the priest's cellar.
(6) Continue along the path through the woods until you reach the road.
(7) Turn right, pass the picnic area and join a road. Turn left and walk 100 metres, then cross the bridge over the Durèze.
(8) Follow the gravel path on the right along the Durèze. After 100 m, turn left onto the path that climbs up to Les Échèdes. Just before the hamlet, take the path on the right that descends towards the river, follow it for a while, then cross it to join another path.
Walk for about 800 metres and join another path. From here, discover Saint-Romain-en-Jarez. Follow the path on the left to the road.
(9) Do not continue on the road, but take the path on the left. Follow it until you reach a new road.
(10) Follow it to the right towards Lachal and discover a very pretty castle.
At the crossroads, you have a choice:
- turn right,
- or left (choice of route), then take the road on the right until you reach a cross. Turn left and continue to the entrance of the castle.
(11) Opposite, take the path that climbs slightly, then the one that branches off to the right. Follow it to the hamlet of La Blanchère.
(12) Descend to the right until you reach the oratory. Here, turn left, then left again. The road turns into a path. Climb it, then take the path that branches off to the right. You will soon reach the highest point of the hike. The path then descends to a road.
(13) Head right towards the hamlet of Crévieux. Cross it, then continue for about 100 metres. Before entering the undergrowth, a small, not very visible path descends on your left.
(14) Take this path and join the road below.
(15) Walk about 10 metres to the left, then turn right onto a small path that descends towards the forest and joins a road.
(16) Follow it to the left and join the Route des Vignes. Cross it and take the path that climbs towards Saint-Romain-en-Jerez. Continue to the next crossroads.
(17) Cross the road (D65) with caution and climb towards the church. After the town hall, go down Rue Porte Revanche, then Route de la Place, to Chemin Croix Grenouillat, which descends to the cemetery.
(18) Go downhill to the right to the cemetery, continue for another 20 metres and you will find a path on the left.
(19) Follow it through the orchards until you reach a road.
(20) Turn left onto this road and go up to the junction with another path.
(21) Turn right onto this path. Pass an isolated house, descend to the stream, then climb back up to a cross.
(22) Take the path on the right. The first part is flat, then descend towards Tarévieux until you reach Route de Tarévieux.
(23) Cross it at the bend (no pedestrian crossing) and take Chemin de Paleton opposite. Just after the house on the left, a path branches off to the left.
(24) Take it and walk along the orchard until you reach an antenna.
(25) At the house, take the road on the left. About 400 m further on, in a left-hand bend, you will find a path branching off to the right.
(26) Take it, then turn right again. After about 80 metres, turn left towards Le Colombier. Near the buildings, you will find a tarmac road that leads to Tapigneux.
(27) Turn right onto Route de Tapigneux, then take the first right. Pass an antenna. Continue to the houses.
(28) Go down Rue Croix Bonnard on the left and head towards Genilac church. When you reach Place Bonnard, turn right towards the cemetery and you will find the car park (S/E).
