Ascent of Åsheimveten peak
There are two paths leading to the summit of Åsheimveten on the island of Osterøy, one of which is much steeper than the other. Two signs in the car park indicate them.
You can therefore do a circular route by taking one path on the way up and the other on the way back. This is shown on this route map, with the outward journey taking the easier path and the return journey via the more difficult one.
Those who are less keen can do a return trip via the easier path, as the descent down the steep path is still quite tricky.
The view from the summit is magnificent and well worth the effort.

The Kossdalvingane walk is a gem of a Norwegian forest trail. The route begins with a track suitable for vehicles, which continues as a well-maintained path that is fairly easy to follow, winding through a coniferous forest whose trunks are covered in moss.
The final ascent, consisting of 17 hairpin bends, offers, at its summit, an incredible view of the lake below and the fjord a little further away.
There are designated areas around the lake where you can have a picnic or even a barbecue.
For those who only wish to see the view from the top, another car park is accessible by car on the other side.
