Along the Bourdic river in Aubussargues

A short, shady walk for most of the way. You'll discover a variety of landscapes. Paths full of flowers and scents of different types of wood, freshness and proximity to the river.
Ideal for groups or families. Be careful between (7) and (8), where you walk on the asphalt road.

Description of the walk

The starting point is the Place de l'Église car park.

(S/E) Go around the church, take Rue Louis Tarana and continue straight on, Rue de la Mairie.

(1) Turn left into Rue du Cadet and continue straight on. At the bend in the road, take a footpath and arrive at a fork in the road.

(2) Turn right, and continue along the track which joins the Bourdic river, then leaves it and rejoins it.

(3) Cross the Bourdic, continue along the path, with the river on your left, and cross it again.

(4) Take the path on the right, with the river now on your right, and continue along the left bank. Cross the river again and continue to a fork in the road.

(5) Fork left, still along the river, and continue along the path. At a crossroads, turn right, leaving the river behind, and come to a fork in the road (elevation 127).

(6) Turn right, go around a knoll and reach the D136.

(7) Follow this road to the right for approximately 500 m, until you come to a track on the right.

(8) Leave the D136 for the track on your right and follow it due South to the fork in the road you passed on the outward journey.

(5) Follow the same route in the opposite direction to where you crossed the river for the second time.

(4) Without crossing, continue along the river, turning right away from it and continuing South-West to rejoin the outward fork.

(2) Take the path in the opposite direction back to the car park in the Place de l'Église (S/E).

Very poor description. We weren't able to do the whole itinerary. Disappointing!

We got lost and had to take paths that weren't signposted or cleared of undergrowth! In short, it was a real adventure!

Walk on a weekday, so not many people. Pleasant route, very green and sheltered from the sun. Freshness provided by the Bourdic stream. Don't forget to stroll through the various lanes of Aubussargues, the village has been restored and has many heritage buildings (wash-house, temple, castle, etc.).
