Park near the football stadium in Mercury, Rue de la Grillette.
(S/E) Opposite the stadium, turn left, continue to the small car park on the right and then turn left to follow Route du Cartherin. Head back up towards the top of the village.
(1) Turn right onto Chemin Pierre Doucet, cross the stream de la Dhuy and continue left onto Chemin de la Curia to reach Route du small pass de Tamié (D104).
(2) Carefully descend the road on the right for 200 metres to reach the hamlet of La Soffaz at the chapel. Keep left to cross it and join the path that quickly leads to an intersection.
(3) Take the path on the left and begin the climb to rejoin the D104 at Les Grangettes.
(4) Turn left and carefully follow the road for a few dozen metres, then cross over to rejoin the path on the right, which continues to climb. You will arrive at the buildings of Sur la Roche.
(5) Continue straight ahead until you reach the bend and take the path opposite, which runs parallel to the D104 and rejoins it at the Small Pass de Tamié.
(6) Follow the road to the left for about 50 metres towards the abbey. Cross it carefully and take the path that starts between the D104 and another small road and leads to the Pommarey farm, then to the Route de Tamié (D201c).
(7) Turn left and follow the road for about 100 metres, then take another road on the right. Pass in front of a small pond.
(8) Turn right and climb through the undergrowth to cut across the bend and then reach the abbey.
(9) Take the path on the left, which leads to a tarmac forest road, and follow it to the left until you reach the hairpin bend on the right.
(10) Leave the forest road and take the path opposite, which climbs steeply and then descends gently towards the Col de Tamié. You will reach a crossroads just before the Ruisseau de Tréjoie.
(11) Continue straight ahead towards Col de Tamié.
(12) Take the path on the right to see a tufa waterfall.
(13) Retrace your steps.
(12) Take the route on the right and come out onto the D201c at Col de Tamié.
(14) Walk a few dozen metres along the road to the right, cross carefully and take the path on the left which descends and crosses the road twice. You will reach the hamlet of Sous le Col.
(15) Follow the road, keeping to the left, to rejoin the path.
(16) Continue straight ahead, crossing the Route des Rochiaz twice, until you reach a four-way crossroads.
(17) Take the path between the two roads facing each other, which leads to a dead end, and continue to the bend.
(18) Take the path opposite, which climbs steeply, and you will come within sight of the houses at Cartherin.
(19) Take the path that descends to the right, cross the Verney and join the Chemin du Stade opposite a small reservoir. All that remains is to head left to return to the car park (S/E).
