Along the river Tyne from Hexham Tyne Green Country Park

Start: Tyne Green Rd Parking, Tyne Green Rd Hexham, Northumberland NE46 3HR

(S/E) From the car park walk toward the Tyne Green play area and then take the little bridge to access the large path by the side of the river Tyne.

(1) On the large path, walk north west (with the river on your right hand side) in the direction of the golf course. Continue straight on the path until reaching the railway line.

(2) Keep straight on the bicycle track with the railway line on your left. Continue straight until seeing some stairs on your right.

(3) Turn right, to go down the stairs, leaving the bicycle track and entering a little wood and rockier footpath. Continue on this footpath following the river Tyne. You will pass under Constantius bridge and the railway line bridge. Continue until reaching a house, contour the house to arrive on a road.

(4) Turn right if you want to go to the Boatside inn pub - continue straight until reaching another road, turn right again, pass the bridge to find the pub.

Turn left (if you don't want to go to the pub) and keep on the road that will become a bicycle track. The path will pass under the railway line and then keep straight on this bicycle track until reaching (2).

Take the little gate to cross the railway line, then take left to walk on the path and join Spital lane and then Tyne Green. Keep straight on this road, passing a little playground on your left. Just after the playground turn left to cross again the railway line and reaching the car park (S/E) .

Be careful when crossing the railway line.
