↔7.60 mi ↗+1,995 ft ↘-1,972 ft ◔5h 15 ▲Moderate
⚑Departure from Norway
In Øvre Ardal, signs for Utladalen. At the end of the road, car park and first large waterfall already visible: Hjellefossen. Breathtaking view. It is over 200 metres high. The total height is 365 metres. Utladalen is very popular with hikers and is one of the most beautiful valleys to visit. The hike to Vettisfossen is quite difficult and passes several superb waterfalls. Vettisfossen is the highlight of the hike. After Hjellefossen near the car park, the path along the Utla river climbs slightly. After 25 minutes, you will see the second large waterfall on the left, Avdalsfossen, which is 175 metres high. Upstream (30 minutes), there is a pretty little picturesque waterfall, Høljafossen, with emerald green colours. Vetti Gard farm. Vettisfossen sign (at the bottom). Follow the Utla river. Steep trail. With a height of 273 metres and impressive power, Vettisfossen is Norway's most beautiful waterfall.
