Waypoints

  1. S : km 0 - alt. 649 m - Start Eastbound on Yellowhead Trail
  2. 2 : km 36.13 - alt. 709 m - Elk Island Park. GREAT for a day trip (good for bikes), overnight camping (no facilities), hiking, or stargazing at night. Warning: Do NOT feed or approach the fluffy cows (Buffalo). They can be anywhere.
  3. 3 : km 39.51 - alt. 713 m - Turn right onto Range Road 195A
  4. 4 : km 39.52 - alt. 713 m - Ukrainian Heritage Village. Another great day trip for the family or a bike ride. Note: they have an annual Psanka (Ukrainian Easter egg) festival. That weekend has LOTS of ukrainian food, music (to work off the pyrogies), and a lot of grass to sit outside. Also has a Ukrainian craft shop.
  5. 5 : km 69.61 - alt. 683 m - Turn left onto Hwy 15/855 North into Mundare.
  6. 6 : km 72.39 - alt. 687 m - Large Esso station for fuel or a loo break. Ask for a hamburger (with NO cheese). They also have FANTASTIC dry ribs... great to snack on (unless you're on your bike, maybe your passenger will feed them to ya). Across the way is the World's Largest Kubassa. The famous Stawnichy's Sausage House is downtown a block and a half away. Get some Ham Garlic sausage and Kubbie (koo bie) Burgers.
  7. 7 : km 103.99 - alt. 627 m - Turn left onto 50 Avenue
  8. 8 : km 104 - alt. 627 m - Andrews Pizza. VERY good Hawaiian and a big selection of ice cream. This is why I'm not skinny.
  9. 9 : km 105.23 - alt. 624 m - Turn left onto Highway 45 East.
  10. 10 : km 109.99 - alt. 626 m - Turn left onto Secondary Hwy 645 East. Warning: the left turn is just past the bend in the road.
  11. 11 : km 118.34 - alt. 621 m - Turn right onto Secondary Highway 857 North.
  12. 12 : km 125.93 - alt. 603 m - Steep hill (for trailers). Do not exceed the speed of sound.
  13. 13 : km 128.85 - alt. 568 m - At the far end of the bridge, turn right onto Highway 652 east.
  14. E : km 140.48 - alt. 647 m - Northern Lights RV (NLRV) Park, approximately 11 km. Watch for the large white sign on the right side of the road. There MAY be a second sign 300m before the main sign and entrance.
