Waypoints

  1. S/E : km 0 - alt. 225 m
  2. 1 : km 0.08 - alt. 226 m - From the carpark, follow the roads towards Sandwick.
  3. 2 : km 1.76 - alt. 165 m - Branch off the road on to a track that contours around to Sleet Fell's north ridge.
  4. 3 : km 2.03 - alt. 201 m - Although not shown on the OS map, there is a track that goes up Sleet Fell's north ridge to the summit.
  5. 4 : km 2.58 - alt. 365 m - Follow the obvious track that goes across Sleet Fell and High Dodd.
  6. 5 : km 4.15 - alt. 460 m - After the stone sheepfold, take the obvious track that gradually goes up eastwards to Mortar Crag.
  7. 6 : km 4.65 - alt. 535 m - The track to The Knight can get a bit vague and boggy. The Knight is the pyramid shaped crag to the southeast. Head for it and go up it.
  8. 7 : km 5.13 - alt. 537 m - Go south on one of the tracks that goes up Hart Crag.
  9. 8 : km 5.65 - alt. 626 m - Depending where you come out on Hart Crag, you may have to do a short out-and-back to Place Fell tarn (if you want to tick it). Otherwise follow the obvious track to Place Fell trig.
  10. 9 : km 6.08 - alt. 640 m - Follow the obvious track south to Round How.
  11. 10 : km 6.54 - alt. 625 m - There is a steep craggy section to descend off Round How. It is quite easy to descend, but if required it can be avoided using a vague grassy track to the east.
  12. 11 : km 6.87 - alt. 529 m - Follow the obvious track to Boredale Hause
  13. 12 : km 7.46 - alt. 399 m - Take the obvious track to the northeast. The track initially goes down a rocky gulley, but soon becomes easier.
  14. 13 : km 7.9 - alt. 313 m - Follow the obvious track to Boredale Head.
  15. 14 : km 9.18 - alt. 190 m - Follow the road back to the carpark
  16. S/E : km 12.25 - alt. 225 m
