Follow Buckeye Trail blue blazes. This is the Scioto Section of the Buckeye Trail.   3. 2 : km 0.27 - alt. 237 m - At 4-Way Trail Junction, continue northeast on Buckeye Trail/Mitchell Ridge Trail. BEGIN CAT 4 Climb: Begin 9.4% average grade for the next 1.0mi. Elev gain 472 ft 39.15955, -83.21855. Elev 824 ft HIKER NOTE: This section is considered challenging and can be muddy. Also a horse trail.
  4. 3 : km 0.71 - alt. 287 m - Junction: Three way intersection with a bridal trail and a footpath. Continue SE on Buckeye trail and soon follow a series of switchbacks as you continue your climb.
  5. 4 : km 1.64 - alt. 375 m - As you top out on Mitchell Ridge, turn Right on Buckeye Trail, heading generally SE along Mitchell Ridge. 39.16149, -83.21139. Elev 1239 ft HIKER NOTE: 8/30/22 - BTA says recent logging operations have destroyed the trail near the top of the ridge. It is possible to walk through the area but you may not have blazes to direct you as you begin your descent.
