Waypoints
- S/E : km 0 - alt. 21 m - Start on the D & R Canal Towpath in front of the Lambertville Station Restaurant. Carefully cross Bridge St. & take the D&R Trail to the right of the bridge & to the immediate left of ________ store.
- 2 : km 1.47 - alt. 17 m - You'll pass along side the backyards of buildings for blocks & cross over the newly replaced Alexauken Creek bridge as Hurricane Ida significantly damaged the original.
- 3 : km 1.7 - alt. 21 m - Just beyond Alexauken Creek, you'll see the underbelly of the New Hope-Lambertville Toll Bridge.
Turn left on River Road (unmarked here), over the little bridge that takes you over the canal. Skip to #4.
10 K Turn right, continue on the D & R trail to Stockton.
5K Turn left, heading back to Lambertville, via the Delaware Heritage Trail.
a.At some point you'll be walking parallel to the Black River Western Railroad tracks. You'll pass several heavily graffitied abandoned railroad cars.
b. Closer to Lambertville, you come to the end of a parking lot, also known as Lambert Lane.
c. Walk through the parking lots/Lambert Lane as it twists & turn by buildings, passing York St & Coryell St. to Bridge .
d. At Bridge St. turn right & crossing the bridge to the PA side.
- 4 : km 6.37 - alt. 23 m - You will pass to the left of Stockton Food Store just before Stockton's Bridge St. This is a good place for food.
- 5 : km 7.29 - alt. 26 m - Turn left on Bridge St. and take the sidewalk to & over the bridge to Centre Bridge, PA.
- 6 : km 7.56 - alt. 22 m - At the end of the bridge take the stairs down to the D&L trail.
Turn left, the Delaware River will be on your left & the canal on your right as you head towards Lambertville.
You will pass the Centre Bridge Inn on the canal bank almost immediately.
- 7 : km 7.57 - alt. 22 m - Just before the New Hope-Lambertville Toll Bridge, you will see a small bridge on your right over to Canal Park. Restrooms are located a ways up & through the parking lots.
- 8 : km 7.57 - alt. 22 m - As you come into New Hope, you will pass the New Hope Railroad Station on your right.
Exit the D&L at the next stairway on your left onto West Bridge St.
- 9 : km 7.58 - alt. 22 m - Cross West Bridge, turn left. Cross South Main & continue over the bridge back to Lambertville Station & your car.
- S/E : km 13.2 - alt. 21 m
