Waypoints

  1. S/E : km 0 - alt. 1,522 m
  2. 1 : km 15.6 - alt. 1,689 m - Horsetooth Reservoir South Bay Campground - Reservation sites as well as first come first serve (FCFS); all sites $20 weeknight/ $26 weekend.
  3. 2 : km 24.41 - alt. 1,641 m - Masonville Mercantile - A quirky convenience store that doubles as a costume shop. Note: this is the last chance to pick up extra snacks for about 45mi (with quite a bit of climbing).
  4. 3 : km 44.23 - alt. 2,014 m - Buckhorn Creek - Most of the climb up Pennock Pass follows Buckhorn Creek, and there are several opportunities to stop and filter.
  5. 4 : km 59.56 - alt. 2,525 m - Ranger Station - While this ranger station seems to be closed indefinitely, there is a working spigot that you can see from the gate.
  6. 5 : km 71.88 - alt. 2,476 m - South Fork of the Poudre - Plenty of spots to stop at filter for the first few miles on Pingree Park Rd.
  7. 6 : km 71.98 - alt. 2,475 m - Dispersed Camping - There are several free dispersed camping options along Pingree Park Rd.
  8. 7 : km 78.31 - alt. 2,482 m - Jacks Gulch Campground - $24 for non-electric sites, pit toilets, water (during summer), some sites have bear lockers.
  9. 8 : km 82.09 - alt. 2,312 m - Vault Toilet
  10. 9 : km 96.6 - alt. 2,207 m - Sevenmile Creek - Usually running water to filter here most summer months.

  12. 11 : km 122.95 - alt. 2,796 m - Vault Toilets
  13. 12 : km 122.98 - alt. 2,797 m - North Fork Poudre Campground - $15/ night, first-come-first-serve campsites; vault toilets, no water.
  14. 13 : km 123.36 - alt. 2,809 m - North Fork of the Poudre - The most convenient spot to filter water on the climb up Deadman Pass.
  15. 14 : km 139.38 - alt. 2,990 m - Sand Creek - Depending on water levels you may choose to ride through, or walk, Sand Creek. This is a great spot to top off all your bottles as the northern stretch is drier and is home to grazing cattle.
  16. 15 : km 167.92 - alt. 2,468 m - Sheep Creek - The route leaves Sheep Creek at this point, and water for the remaining 55mi is scarce.

  18. 17 : km 201.81 - alt. 1,904 m - Cherokee Park SWA Lower Unit
