  3. 3 : km 0.59 - alt. 14 m - Turn right as you are heading up hill (after post office and before Baikies stores)
  4. 4 : km 1.87 - alt. 42 m - Head north-east towards Lyde Rd
  5. 5 : km 5.7 - alt. 17 m - Turn right at T junction onto Lyde Rd
  6. 6 : km 6.33 - alt. 15 m - Turn left onto A966
  7. 7 : km 6.6 - alt. 15 m - Head north on A966 towards Gorseness Rd
  8. 8 : km 11.04 - alt. 39 m - Head north on A966

  22. 22 : km 38.6 - alt. 5 m - Turn right signposted Birsay tearooms (and toilets) to visit Earls palace immediately on left, then stop outside St Magnus kirk to read interpretation board. Toilets a few hundred yards further on and tearoom (one of the best in Orkney) not far past on right hand side
  23. 23 : km 38.69 - alt. 5 m - Head north back to main road
  24. 24 : km 38.79 - alt. 5 m - Turn right
  25. 25 : km 39.48 - alt. 24 m - Turn right onto A967 (by signs for Yellowbird gallery and Barony mill)
  26. 26 : km 39.9 - alt. 15 m - Turn left signed Kirbister for 100 yards to visit Mans well (then re-trace to re-join road)
  27. 27 : km 39.92 - alt. 15 m - Turn left back onto A967
  28. 28 : km 42.43 - alt. 31 m - Head south-east on A967 towards Loons Rd
  29. 29 : km 44.06 - alt. 20 m - Continue straight onto A986
