Waypoints
- S : km 0 - alt. 256 m
- 1 : km 0.01 - alt. 256 m - At the main entrance to the National Trust property, turn off the road onto the straight and level track through the woodland.
(At the time of writing - May 2021 - the National Trust carpark was being significantly re-landscaped. It is not possible to give precise directions in terms of its ultimate layout.)
- 2 : km 0.18 - alt. 256 m - Follow the track through the gate and across the open heathland.
- 3 : km 0.65 - alt. 256 m - As the path starts to descend into the woodland once more, bear right along the main track.
- 4 : km 0.84 - alt. 256 m - There are many, similar, interlinking tracks here. It is difficult to provide precise directions. Continue forward and downward in the same direction. If it is wet, one track may be more favourable than another. The tracks ultimately join at a road.
- 5 : km 1.59 - alt. 231 m - Join the surfaced road at the entrance to the Royal School. Continue forward down the hill.
- 6 : km 3.61 - alt. 137 m - Follow the road downwards to the green by the church. Turn left along a busy road and under the rail bridge to the station.
- E : km 4.06 - alt. 138 m
