Thanks Graeme, I've done a couple of others from your website, particularly enjoyed the Garstang one with the goats!

Pleasant walk, given the grey time of year. There is a problem with a closed footpath in Rufford Mere, temporary to allow work to take place. It is signposted at the visitors centre, but you can still walk a considerable way along the path before doubling back, pass the visitors centre again, then either follow your route all the way back out of the woods or cut through the centre (which I did). On passing the cricket ground, and crossing the road, the path really isn't very obvious, but it is there! You'll be on the right of the stream, whereas you were on the left of it coming out of the woods, so pay attention to where it comes out at the cricket ground and you'll find it!

Good walk, easy walking with good interest. The canal and Rufford Hall highlights. Part of canal was empty at time of walk. Lovely refreshment stop at the Fecklers marina.
