Start : Small public car park at Front Brents, Faversham (ME13 7DH). Grid ref. TR 015 617
(S/E) From the small public car park at Front Brents, Faversham ME13 7DH, turn left out of the car park onto Front Brents, and continue along past The Albion Tavern Pub and houses on your left. Go over the small 'bridge' (actually a covered over corrugated iron pipe) onto Crab Island, with an information board on your left. Continue until you hit the concrete wall, then turn sharp left and carry on around with the wall on your right. You will pass through a short alleyway. At the end of this alley, go diagonally left for 20 meters, and turn right at the house number 117.
(1) There is a footpath signpost here. Continue on the footpath with the wall on your right - basically you are skirting the industrial estate. Go through the gate and go straight on (still with the wall, then houses on your right until you reach the creek bank and the raised grassy bank.
(2) From here stay on the raised bank and just follow the path with the creek to your right and the marshes to your left. You may encounter some cows, and you should see plenty of bird life, plus a nice view of the ship yard on the opposite bank of the creek. You cant go wrong, there is only one path and after a couple of miles you will reach Hollowshore with its boatyard and the Shipwrights Arms Pub. Big garden, real ales, nice food (but limited opening hours so check first).
(3) From here, you can either retrace your steps back to the car park, or for a shorter route back, turn left out of the pub, pass through the car park and join the small road. Continue on this road for about 200 metres, until you reach the public footpath and gate on the left. Go through this gate and follow the footpath arrow across the field. you will see the farm buildings in front of you, head for them. Leave the fields by the gate and turn left into the farmyard.
(4). Walk through the farm yard. In the winter you can say hi to the cows in the sheds, in the summer the cows are out on the marshes, so you may just have to say hi to a tractor. About half way through the farm yard, turn sharp right, past the high hedge on your right and out into the fields. Follow the clear path and after 10 minutes or so you will find yourself back at waypoint (1). From here, just retrace your steps back to the car park. (S/E)
