(1) The arch is all that remains of Wrington Cottage Hospital (originally known as the Wrington Village Hospital), which was a historic medical facility that opened on 19 July 1864. It is highly notable for being one of the earliest cottage hospitals established in the United Kingdom. While the historical hospital is no longer operational, modern medical care for the local area is managed by community practices and nearby NHS regional units.
(2) Roper's Lodge is at the end of Ropers Lane. Note how straight it is; this may be where the ropes were twisted. Ropes in those days were used at sea, on farms and for church bells.
(3) The Water Catch (also Water Catches) is a specific localised landscape feature and geographic point located on the slopes of Wrington Hill / Bracken Hill directly north-west of the village of Wrington.
