From the B9031, head towards the coast in the direction of the RSPD (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) and the Nature Centre (there’s also Northfield) to reach the car park. You’ll need to walk 2.7 km along a small road that passes through a farm and ends in a dirt track. There are signposts all the way. You can shorten the walk by returning via the RSPD signpost after Troup Head towards the car park.
It’s a superb walk for birdwatching on the cliffs. At the various viewpoints, there are gates allowing you to get closer to the cliff edge. However, it can be dangerous, especially if you’re afraid of heights.

Other walks in the area
From Pennan to Black Hill
There aren’t many parking spaces along the jetty, especially during the summer months. The village is accessible via a very steep and winding road. Vehicles longer than 6 metres will find it a real struggle. The aim of this walk is to take in the view overlooking this magnificent bay. This village is famous for the film *Local Hero*, which features a soundtrack by Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits).
From Gardenstown to Crovie
Getting to the village of Crovie by car – and even more so in a motorhome – is tricky. The walk between the two bays is lovely. The history and the village of Crovie are surprising. There is a large car park at Gartenstown
