Description of the walk

Park in the car park on the edge of Northwest Springville Road. Access via Northwest Skyline Boulevard.

(S/E) Continue to the end of the road and enter the woods. At the fork that appears quickly, keep right and follow Northwest Firelane 7.

(1) At the intersection, continue straight ahead. After about 100 metres, follow the Trillium Trail to the right. Descend gently to a river.

(2) Turn left onto Wildwood Trail (do not cross the river). Continue along this path through the woods.

(3) Cross Northwest Oil Line Road and continue on Wildwood Trail, which winds through the woods.

(4) Cross Gas Line Road and continue on Wildwood Trail, which makes several turns.

(5) Cross the Ridge Trail and continue on the Wildwood Trail. Cross a river. Further on, after a hairpin bend to the right, ignore the Hardesty Trail on the right. You will soon reach another intersection.

(6) Then follow the Hardesty Trail to the left and climb slightly.

(1) At the junction you took on the way there, turn right. Follow Fire Lane 7 to the car park (S/E).

Notes

The hike begins with an easy descent from Springville to access Wildwood Trail. Most of the time, Wildwood Trail is relatively flat and suitable for all ages. The climb back up is not difficult. The trails will be muddy in some places for a few days after rain, so wear appropriate footwear.
