Start : Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park upper car park, Belfast (BT17 9LA)
(S/E) Starting at the bottom of the upper car park, this short trail leads to the right (West). When reaching the paved path, turn right (North-East) then after 60m, turn left and go West through the quaint Japanese Garden (Oriental Garden) in between Rhododendron bushes. (unsuitable for those with limited mobility). Enjoy the garden as the way goes South-East.
(1) When you reach a paved path, keep straight (South-East) then as you reach toilets on your right-hand, bear right (South) before passing to the right of Wilmont House. Continue along the lawn path before turning right towards the Golden Crown Fountain commissioned for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee.
(2) Walk along the perimeter of the walled garden (always on your left). Reach a paved path again and walk towards the maintenance buildings. After 30m or so, reach a no entry iron gate on your right. Go left here sweeping back up along Azalea Walk with the children’s playground on your right.
Turn right (East) at the T-junction, and follow the path between the Yew Hedges to a crossroads where you can follow the orange waymarkers straight ahead (North-East) back to the upper car park. (S/E)
