Silver Point from Patterdale

Start: Car park across the road to Patterdale hotel, A592, Patterdale, Penrith CA11 0NN, £5/day, coin payment only

(S/E) From the car park, walk north east on the pavement towards the exit of Patterdale. After passing the school, turn right on the footpath between two buildings. Take the large rocky path that goes towards the little bridge. Continue straight toward the farm. Walk through the farm to see a signpost. 

(1) Turn left in the direction of Howtown and continue straight on the large path with a dry stone wall on your left. Keep straight passing on the side of the campsite. 

(2) Arriving at an intersection of paths, turn left on the large rocky path. Continue on this large path until reaching Silver Point. 

(3) Detour by the small summits of Silver Point to admire the view. Then come back to the main path and keep straight on the path. After the bend a couple of meters, you will see a signpost. 

(4) Turn right on the path going up and starting with some stairs. Continue uphill and then on the large path at the bottom of the summits. Keep straight until you see a large path on your right. 

(5) Turn right to go down, pass the gate and take right to walk toward Side farm. Once at the farm (1) turn left to walk back to the car park (S/E) .
