Departure from the Parc à Mitrailles car park in Court-Saint-Étienne.
(S/E) From the car park, go to the rear of the building and follow the railway tracks to the right. Cross the road and take the path opposite, slightly to your left, marked "Pré-Ravel".
Follow it and join the Ravel after crossing Avenue des Prisonniers de Guerre. Just after passing under the first bridge, take the small footbridge on the left and the path that leads back and go up onto the bridge, which you cross. Follow the road to the left for a few metres (Rue du Pont de Pierres).
(1) Turn right onto a small path marked "sentier touristique" (tourist trail). Cross the road (Avenue des Combattants), go up Rue des Taillettes opposite for about 100 metres, then turn right onto a small path that climbs very steeply.
(2) At the junction with Rue de la Chapelle aux Sabots, take the dirt track on the left and follow it until you reach a large meadow and vast horse paddocks. Turn right into the copse and follow the paddocks for a short distance, then turn immediately left onto a dirt track in the middle of the fields, parallel to the main track.
(3) When you reach a large green construction site gate, turn right into the forest.
(4) At the end of the road after the cobblestones, turn left onto Rue des Fusillés, then take the first street on the right. Go up Avenue des Genêts on the left, cross the main road carefully and continue on Avenue Bel Horizon, then Rue des Renoncules. Walk to number 9, located on the left side of the street.
(5) A sign indicates the Sentier du Sculpteur, which leaves the road on the right, below. Come out onto Rue Chapelle Notre-Dame, follow it for about 150 m, then turn left onto Rue du Domaine Négri to reach Avenue des Vallées.
(6) Turn right into a small square.
Here you can shorten the hike by continuing directly to 8 below.
For the full route, turn left into a small enclosure (Champ d'Enfer). The road quickly turns into a path that enters the forest. At this point, the sculptures continue until you finally reach the sculptor's open-air workshop. The path then continues through the fields to the top of a small hill at a crossroads.
(7) Take the one on the right. At the end of the fields, just after a row of majestic trees and then a house, a path branches off to the right (sign saying "no entry"). Take this path to reach Avenue des Evaux, which you follow down to the end. Then turn right to reach the square by following Rue du Culot.
(8) Continue on the left until you reach Avenue Provinciale. Cross at the traffic lights and go down the cycle path opposite. Take the road on the left, Rue Ernest Berthet, then Rue de la Station on the right.
(9) After crossing the river, turn right and pass behind the old industrial buildings to reach the railway line. Follow it to the right until you reach Parc à Mitrailles and the car park (S/E)
