The nature trail was initiated by a keen hiker from Rödental, Thomas Herold. It starts at the top of Rödental, where you’ll also enjoy a lovely view. The car park at Klosterhof is free, and after just 200 metres you’ll find yourself immersed in the idyllic vineyards, which offer a truly beautiful experience of nature.
There’s plenty of shade here and a lovely valley, which also attracts other walkers and dog owners. You can take a leisurely walk uphill until you reach the bee hotel on the right. This marks the turning point and is a nature reserve, so please keep dogs on a lead. The number of information boards and points of interest along the way is impressive. Not only do children learn something here, but it’s also entertaining and provides little micro-breaks along the way. This makes it ideal for grandparents with grandchildren.
Now you’ll enter the third scenic section: the nature trail through the trees and old shrubs. The path leads gently downhill to the youth hostel. There, I came across children singing and a lovely seating area with information boards and a barbecue.
Now just the short walk back to the car park.
In Rödental, you can round off your outing at a restaurant or at Funtasy World. It’s also a good way to keep fussy kids happy.
