(S/E) From the car park opposite the church fountain, take the Cami de Sarradet eastwards and then south-east.
(1) At a fork, continue right on Chemin de Routias, passing a farm with the scent of alpine pastures on your right.
(2) At the Croix de Routias, pass a mountain spring on your left that flows into a trough before continuing south on the Chemin Daouyas.
(3) At a fork, take the Chemin d'Ourtrigue on the right. After 400 metres along this tree-lined path, you will come to a plateau of pastures. Continue along this small track, passing a small family campsite on your right.
(4) Take the concrete path to cross the Ruisseau d'Ourtigue stream and head north-northwest.
(5) At a fork, take the left-hand path and go around the base of Pic de Montmède in an anti-clockwise direction. You will find a dirt track with some stones. Watch out for a few large stones and ruts (get off your bike if necessary) and, in the valley, wade across the stream.
(6) Then, take the path on the left (south) that climbs up to the waterfall that flows into the Ruisseau d'Arsoué. Park your bike and continue on foot along the stream if you want to see the waterfall.
(7) You will retrace your steps.
(6) Take the track on the left, which quickly heads north-northeast. Use a low gear and take your breath away, as it's a climb.
(8) At Granges d'Arsoué, follow the winding path on the right that descends into the woods.
(9) At the end of this path, you will come to the Arsoué stream, not far from a small dam. Cross the stream via the Pont d'Arsoué bridge, then follow the path back up through the woods. Before reaching the village, you will pass a wash house on your right. Take the lane through the village of Azet to reach the car park (S/E).
