From the ski resort (S), head up the forest track away from the ski slopes until you reach point (1). Then turn left into the meadows. You’re now on a rather lovely forest track.
At the point (2), you can choose to take a detour via the ridge and the summit (3). You’ll be rewarded with a lovely unobstructed view, but this adds 150 metres of elevation gain and about 3 km to the route. Otherwise, head straight to (4).
Carry on to the second summit (5) and then on to (6).
At (6), don’t miss the track that branches off to the left, descending gently. Carry on through the forest until you reach (7). You’ll then join the forest track. Follow it until you reach (8).
At (8), leave the forest track and take a small path through the woods. The path is quite steep, but it’s a nice shortcut compared to the forest track. You’ll come across sandy ground, very different from what you’ve seen so far.
Carry on until you rejoin the forest track at (9).
At (10), you can take another shortcut by leaving the forest track. It’s full of ferns, quite pretty and not too steep.
At (11), you’ll rejoin the forest track, which you’ll follow until you reach Florina and your destination. Having a drink by the river can be a lovely way to round off this walk.
