Very beautiful walk with panoramic views, especially on the way back. The trail is not always obvious. On the way back, it is possible to take a wrong turn. Watch out for loose rocks near the summit (below the cross). There is no shade, so be prepared for the heat.

Other walks in the area
Tarampados - Loutra circular
Nice circular walk in part on a small road around the valley, then down and up the valley, protected from the wind. Pleasant views and not difficult. There is a museum at Louvos and a cafe place. In season there is a nice restaurant in Krokos only 1 km more (2 each way).
Volax circular
As 2 walkers in our late 60s and 70s, we look for circular routes. This is a very easy one. It starts at the top of the valley, goes down gently in the strange landscape around Volax and then up into the village. We then took the not very busy road, which is fairly flat, back to the car. The large, probably volcanic lumps of stone/granite are very special and worth seeing.
From Andros Mésa Bouni to Ormos Kortiou via footpath 5
Downhill hike in the direction indicated in the title via footpath number 5 (marked).
The path alternates between trails and steps. Pass through tiny, typical villages perched in the mountains (hence the steps) and the island's greenery.
