From the village of Gorafe, follow Route 6100 north-west.
Park near kilometre marker 3 (KM), where there are a few parking spaces available near the bridge.
(S/E) From the bridge over the Rio Gor, head back along a track on the left. Follow this track as it winds its way through farmland until you reach a isolated house near a crossroads.
(1) Take the track on the left, which climbs gently along a ravine amidst a desert-like landscape of ruiniform terrain. Gradually, the view of the canyon opens up and, upon reaching the plateau, a vast panorama unfolds: badlands of colourful earth, eroded by the elements, Lake Negratin and, in the distance, a few mountain ranges. You’ll reach a crossroads with signposts.
(2) Take the track on the right. As you cross the plateau, you’ll reach the edge of another canyon and follow it along a wide track running along the ridge. A few caves are visible at the side of the track. Continue on until you reach the junction with another track.
(3) Turn right and continue the descent. Pass by the houses of Cueve and Majada de la Culebra. Carry on until you reach a Y-junction.
(4) Leave the main track and take a track that winds down through a recently scorched landscape. Join the Barranco de Oliveros and then the Barranco de la Cidebra.
(5) Cross this ravine to reach the bottom of a small valley in an almost verdant area planted with olive trees.
(6) Continue on and you’ll soon reach the junction you passed on the way out.
(1) Follow the route you took on the way there in the opposite direction to return to the car park at kilometre marker 3 (S/E).
