Circular route via Errisberg and Dog’s Bay Beach

This is a circular walk starting from Roundstone and going as far as Errisberg (300 metres), before returning along the beach via the famous white-sand Bog’s Bay Beach. Best done in good weather… with a bit of luck, you might even be able to go for a swim!

Description of the walk

Unmarked route. From the car park, walk up the road until you take a small path on your left towards Sainte-Marie Church, which you’ll walk past on your right.

As you leave the church grounds, turn right.

Look for the path on your left which climbs towards Errisberg.

At the three-way junction, turn left. Don’t miss the gate on your right, which leads onto a dirt track that will take you to Errisberg. The path is barely visible, but head towards the summit (cairns).

We were lucky enough to do this walk after several days of fine weather. Everyone will find their own way round any boggy patches.

The same applies on the way down.

You’ll reach the tarmac road, which you follow to the left until you come to the road leading to Dog’s Bay Beach, which you walk alongside. A path climbs between the two beaches until you reach a gate allowing you to pass from one to the other.

Return via a coastal path (not to be missed).
