Description of the walk

Start at the calvary car park right at the edge of the D5 coming from Yvetot, in front of the old school.

(S/F) Take the road up to the church and head around it in the direction of Bermonville (D110).

(S/E) On leaving the village, turn right on Route des Deux Villages towards Bermonville (D240).

(1) Arriving in a curve to the left, go straight the GR211 "Chemin du Petit Bois". The latter makes a 90° turn to the right and into the undergrowth. Turn left towards the D5.

(2) Follow this road to the left for 150 m up to Ferme du Moulin and then turn right towards Ferme du Bois Hébert. At the farm, turn right and follow the road around the buildings.

(3) At the edge of the bottom of the valley, turn left taking the small path along the edge for 100 m, then take the path to Rocquefort (GR211c).

(4) At the church, follow the road to the right, then turn right again immediately at the events hall. Cross the village and continue towards Autretot. Pass by the calvary on the right and the coast of Haiguette, continuing straight ahead for 50 m.

(5) Take Route des Joncs Marins on the right. The road continues on the road through the plains.

(6) At the end of the path, take the D110 to the right towards Hautot-le-Vatois leaving the GR211c.

(7) At the intersection, turn left on Route des Fermes, continue straight past the castle (8). A little further on, take the Rue des Chasseurs right and continue straight. The route continues on a footpath behind a house.

(9) Follow this footpath to its end then turn left onto the road heading downhill. 100 m further down, take the second road on the right. At the end of the path, head across the street named "Chemin de la Côte". 100 m further on, again take a narrow path on the left, just after a large property with a wooden gate (10).

At the end of the footpath, turn left and continue straight down. At the first forked crossroads, continue straight and then, at the bottom of the descent, turn right towards the edge of the woods and reach the D110.

(11) Veer to the left and then right at Route d’Yvetot to return to the starting point (S/E).

Busy trail : No

The GR 211 is no longer in use and it is impossible to pass through brambles and nettles, etc. We had to turn back after four kilometres and cancel the outing - a shame.
Sincerely

A very fine walk combining paths and roads.
The road sections are quiet, apart from the section on the D5 to reach the Ferme du Moulin, which is a busy road with no pavement, an area where you need to be extra vigilant, although fortunately it is relatively short.
The whole route is very pleasant, with no particular difficulties, even for an occasional walker with a curious dog that stops every 30 metres. It took me 2 hours and 40 minutes to complete the walk, without any effort on my part.
I recommend this walk and would do it again.

Hello,
A very nice easy walk, very well signposted, we never had to turn back and we never hesitated about which way to go. This walk allows you to discover the beautiful Cauchoise countryside. If you're walking with a dog, remember to keep it on a lead as you'll be skirting meadows with cattle.
We recommend this walk. It combines paths and roads, but without heavy traffic.
Good walking to all

Hello,

A very pleasant walk between fields, forests and tarmac roads, but without much traffic. The route was estimated to take 3h25mins, but we covered it in 2h30mins without running, despite the nettles and various obstacles on the footpaths, so a word of advice on this route: wear trousers because it stings!!!!!!. We'll be going back with some friends, as this is a very natural route that is suitable for beginners.

Hi there,

I did the hike, but didn't see the famous house. Could you tell me a bit more about it?

Hello,
Thank you for your comments.

I'm still keen to find walks in different places, and the region was reshaped when the motorway was built, which was an opportunity to remove a lot of paths.
You have to use the ones that are left, otherwise the farmers will take them over on the grounds that ..... nobody uses them!!!
So there's just one tricky 200-metre section on a secondary road, otherwise it's just a country road.
In fact, we pass in front of C. Lagarde's property and the hamlet of Veraval is well worth a visit in my opinion.
Thanks again and have a good day

Dominique

hike made under a beautiful sun and small cold wind through plain. Easy walk but over 11 km. But don't forget to take in the sights of the Pays de Caux, especially the houses. But you don't need more tarmac!
Good in every way.

A beautiful walk with no great difficulty, passing in front of the property of Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the IMF and former Minister of the Economy.
