Park in the car park at the foot of the old village
(S/E) From the car park, return to the road and turn left. A few metres further on, at the intersection, turn right. Stay on this road to enter the village of Rochecolombe. Pass the town hall.
(1) Immediately turn left onto the concrete path for a steep climb. Further on, take the path opposite and continue to the right at the foot of the castle ruins.
(2) Leave the tarmac and take the marked path on the left. Climb slightly and walk along the balcony before reaching the sign for "Ron Chamorel".
(3) Continue to the left, then cross a dry river bed before climbing up to a new junction.
(4) Turn left and walk to the Belvédère des Baux viewpoint, then retrace your steps.
(4) Continue along the route towards La Lauzière.
(5) Turn right and take a track to the left. At a hairpin bend to the left, leave the track and stay on the marked route by taking the path opposite.
(6) At another hairpin bend to the left, leave the marked route and continue along the path opposite (unmarked section).
A few hundred metres further on, turn right onto a road and stay on it, ignoring any side roads. You will reach Sauveplantade.
(7) Enter the hamlet on the right. Pass the church (listed as a historic monument) and continue on the main road.
(8) At a place called Pradet, leave the road and take the path on the left. Further on, there are a few climbs through the undergrowth.
(9) At a hairpin bend to the right, the slope levels out and the path, now "flat", leads to a track.
(10) Take the track on the right and you will come to the Lauzière intersection, which you passed earlier.
(5) Descend to Rochecolombe, with beautiful views of the old village and the ruins of the castle. Near the Vendoule River, there is a signpost indicating "Rochecolombe 0.7". There is no need to follow the route as the car park is just a few metres away. Simply continue straight ahead at the signpost to finish the hike (S/E).
), had a snack on the hillside (near Le Palas) with a breathtaking view of the valley, and took in beautiful views of Rochecolombe during the final descent to the village. The difficulty level is moderate.
