Ascent of Nuolja and descent to Björkliden
Departure from the tourist resort. You can walk up to the Aurora Sky Station by passing under the chairlift or take the chairlift. Then follow the marked trail to the summit of Nuolja. From there, the trail descends about 100 metres, taking the path on the right, which is clearly visible from the summit. Then take a path on the right marked by stakes with crosses and red dots on the rocks.
The descent to Björkliden station is easy, and from there you can take the train (9 minutes) to the tourist resort.
Cross a few snowfields and follow a large river with waterfalls.

An easy hike, with a very natural first part through the boreal forest, followed by a crossing of the village of Abisko Östra, a small artistic and scientific section, and then back to nature with the gorges carved out by the Abiskojokk River.
There are two short stops along the route. The first is the Sami Camp, just after the start. The second is Sensing The Arctic, towards the end of the loop, below the STF Touriststation.
This hike was done in February without snowshoes, as the snow had been compacted by other hikers.

A lovely, easy hike starting from Abisko Touriststation. Done in February, in the snow, but without snowshoes. The snow had already been compacted by other hikers. This gently sloping route alternates between passages through the boreal forest, clearings and a lakeside. The entire return journey is along the Abiskojokk river, which is frozen in winter.

Starting from Abisko, this hike offers magnificent views of Lake Tornetrask, the Lapland Gate and the surrounding mountains. You will pass through birch forests and tundra landscapes and follow a river. It also crosses a reconstruction of a Sami camp. There are no significant difficulties, apart from the distance.
