The Gavarnie Cirque is an outstanding area of conservation. It is classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This easy hike will give you your first look at it!
Park in Gavarnie at its designated car park.
Cross through the village of Gavarnie. (1) Take the bridge to the left that leads to the camping site and then keep to the right bank of the Gave de Gavarnie. Continue on the trail to the Hôtellerie du Cirque (2).
Along the way, you should have a good view of the Cirque and a viewpoint.
On the return leg, turn left as soon as possible and take a footbridge to cross the Gave. Then follow it on its left bank to Gavarnie.
This hike is easy to access. However do bring some water with you and possibly some provisions.
There is a fee for parking in Gavarnie in summer.
In summer, there are plenty of hotels and restaurants open locally. You will easily find something to eat.

Excellent walk, especially with the views of snow on the peaks. Very pleasant, but icy underfoot with packed snow.
