Experience the nostalgia of historic steam trains in some of Wales’ finest countryside. The railway starts on the coast at Tywyn, snakes through the foothills of Cader Idris to Dolgoch Falls, Abergynolwyn and Nant Gwernol. The train clings to the hillside as it passes through woodland and over ravines. The trip takes about an hour each way. Your ticket allows you to break your journey and extend your day: you could take a country walk, explore wooded paths, discover waterfalls or visit the beach. Tywyn Wharf station is home to the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum, which tells the story of little railways across Britain, and King’s Cafe which has hot and cold menus, lunch time specials and a licensed bar. Quarryman’s Tea Room at Abergynolwyn serves a range of refreshments and light bites.

Welcome to Richmond Ramblers, offering friendly walks locally and further afield. Our programme is a mixture of city walks in Central London and country walks in Greater London and in the counties outside. Our walking outside Greater London includes the beautiful countryside of the North Downs, the South Downs, the South Coast and the Chilterns.

n

There are three walks nearly every week - on Saturdays, Sundays and midweek. All are conveniently organised around public transport and usually start and end at railway stations. They range from 4 - 12 miles in length.

Running, trekking and sometimes MTB. I love nature, music, technology, videogames and photography. I am a member of Rete Radio Montana. I love trekking alone (but for this I am very well equipped 😉).

At Pipsticks Walks we have a passion for walking and the great British countryside. Walking is so much more than just a walk and we love to share our knowledge and interests so that you too can appreciate the places and landscapes that we treasure.
nWe aim to do more than just show you the path, we give you purpose to walk on it!
nIn addition to our friendly in-person professional Guided Walking, Nordic Walking, and Navigation Skills activities, we now share some of walks with you on Visorando to help you enjoy your precious time outdoors.
nMost of our activities take place in and around the nationally important landscapes of the Chiltern Hills and North Wessex Downs. With great transport links (road, train or bus) to the area from London, Oxford and beyond, our walks are perfect for a stress-free day out or a short break in the countryside.
nWe check our routes regularly, but if you come across any issues or have suggestions for improvement, please do let us know.
