Waypoints

  1. S : km 0 - alt. 11 m
  2. 1 : km 15.22 - alt. 102 m - Down by the river is a monument; there is a track on the map that goes past it. Could you take some photos of the area off-road; this is where Amat Estate has offered a vet gate space? - David - photo01
  3. 2 : km 16.57 - alt. 125 m - At the cattle grid by the car park. This has been an access problem for a while for horse riders. There is a kissing gate only beside the cattle grid. However, there is a gate at the back of the car park that others and I have used. Could you take a photo of it? Access to it on the west side of the fence follows a route through the trees. It may be overgrown! Thanks, A back option is that Amat Estate will lay planks on the cattle grid, which works well, - David - photo02
  4. 3 : km 20.51 - alt. 204 m - On this section there is fenced woodland. Two cattle grids. Could you take photos of the sie gates? In particular the means of securing the gates. Rope last time I was there. - David - photo03
  5. 4 : km 28.98 - alt. 276 m - We hope to have a vet check here; no stop, just checked as they pass through. Could you take a photo of any area west of the Lodge that is roughly flat and 30m long for trotting up? Could you check for any phone signal? II doubt that there will be any!! - David - photo04
  6. 5 : km 33.76 - alt. 275 m - Along side Loch Vaich are two blocks of planted woodland. There are gates and great side-gates. Photo of each of the side gates. I was involved in ensuring they are good for horses! so should be ok - David - photo04a
  7. 6 : km 62.79 - alt. 65 m - Sandy lives at Rogie. Do check in on him to say hello. He knows his Highlands (breeds them) and is one of the finest makers of Highland deer saddles in his day. I heard that he had not been that well. Best wishes from me. - SANDY
  8. 7 : km 77.42 - alt. 145 m - I cannot remember exactly where the gate is here. Photo of gate and lock - if locked! Also any way that horse can get round if locked. - David - photo05
  9. 8 : km 102.3 - alt. 79 m - This gate is the one that has caused problems in the past. Locked. Horse riders have been trapped here and have had to call the estate and wait for hours. I have been trapped once and - do not tell anyone - went NW way up the fence line, cut a hole and closed it up behind me! I carry cutters and wire. - David - photo06
  10. E : km 138.8 - alt. 19 m
