Waypoints

  1. S/E : km 0 - alt. 69 m - This is the start! Luckily we have a flat and wide field as our starting point. We have enough time and space to jockey for a good position before the course narrows.
  2. 2 : km 0.58 - alt. 79 m - Here starts the Bus Ramp Hill. This is usually where buses park and drop off students before and after school. In my opinion, this is the easiest hill. It is the longest hill, but the flattest hill.
  3. 3 : km 0.75 - alt. 81 m - Here is the Slanted Hill, or commonly known as the acorn hill. During the fall, the acorns lie on this hill. This makes this hill super slippery. I have fallen on this hill before!
  4. 4 : km 0.81 - alt. 77 m - This is a particularly difficult turn. This is not only a sharp turn, but also on a downhill. We have to make sure we don't skid off the turn and loose control.
  5. 5 : km 0.95 - alt. 75 m - This a small but steep hill. It is like a mini version of the wall. It is not too bad because we always finish all of our runs by running up this hill. It has one big hill followed by a smaller hill. We don't get too much rest before we have to get up another hill.
  6. 6 : km 1.04 - alt. 73 m - Here is a turn! This is an amazing place to run by because this is where our team tent is set up! This is a common place for people to stand! Everyone stands here and cheers you on! This starts a hill. We go through the 'Double Guard Rail.'
  7. 7 : km 1.19 - alt. 87 m - Uphill doesn't really end until here. It is a long hill!
  8. 8 : km 1.32 - alt. 90 m - This is a steep downhill that can get very slippery and muddy!
  9. 9 : km 1.54 - alt. 81 m - This is a nice long downhill. This is a great time to pass other people!
  10. 10 : km 1.76 - alt. 71 m - Another downhill! This one is so steep; this is probably the steepest downhill. You have to just fly down this hill. It is also narrow so there can only be one person on it at a time.
  11. 11 : km 2.03 - alt. 69 m - A small uphill that is about 3-4 steps!
  12. 12 : km 2.43 - alt. 66 m - The beginning of The Wall! They always put a sign up that states 'Welcome to The Wall.' However, I am always too focused on not falling to fully appreciate the sign. This hill is so steep I basically have to walk up it. It gives you a nice cardio break while it strains your quads. After you get up this hill, you go around the course for a second time.
  13. 13 : km 4.45 - alt. 69 m - No we have gotten up the hill for the 2nd and last time! We have finished the last hill of the course! Time to start picking up the pace.
  14. 14 : km 4.56 - alt. 75 m - We make a hairpin turn, which is hard, and then run straight to the finish. The turn is about a person wide, so it is tight. The course opens up after that. We get to pass our teammates in the race as we head down to the finish. Time to start kicking!
  15. 15 : km 4.9 - alt. 72 m - This is it! The last downhill gives you a boost of speed! You've just got to keep the momentum going until you reach the finish line!
  16. S/E : km 4.99 - alt. 70 m - And you are done! Relax, drink some water, clean off the mud, and celebrate! We usually gather as a whole team later that night.
