Description of the walk

If there’s no car park, park along the main road in the village of Grand-Trixhe.

(S/E) Head north-east and take the tarmac path on the left. Continue left onto the Route du 7 Septembre. You’ll reach a Y-junction with a tarmac path.

(1) Turn left onto the dead-end track for a few metres, then turn right into a meadow. Cross the meadow to reach the woods and a dirt track. You’ll come to the end of a fence marking the boundary of a property.

(2) Turn right to reach a four-way junction. Take the path on the right to cross the Bois Renard. You will then reach the N30 road at a junction marked by a cross.

(3) Leave the N30 and turn right onto the tarmac road which climbs slightly. Then turn left at thesecond junction to reach the village of Bosson. Walk past the village school and head towards the church. Cross the square, keeping the church on your left, to rejoin the main N30 road.

(4) Follow it to the right for about a hundred metres, then cross it and turn left onto the Route du Vieux Chêne. Continue along this road until you rejoin the N30. Turn right onto it and head downhill for about a hundred metres.

(5) Cross it again and turn left onto the road leading uphill – this is Route Bosson – and follow it alongside the motorway. You will then reach the junction with the Route de Huy (N66).

(6) Cross the N66 to enter the woods opposite. Please note: the path may be a little muddy depending on the weather. Follow the motorway for a few more metres, then turn right into the Bois des Arsins. Stay on this path as it descends in a straight line. Ignore the side paths and continue to the junction with the Chemin du Vicinal.

(7) Turn right onto this path until you reach another junction marked with glass bottles. Take the path on the left. Stay on this path, ignoring the ones branching off to the left. After a bend to the right, you’ll reach the Ruisseau de la Hé Chaude. Cross this stream and start an easy climb through the forest, winding your way between the trees. You’ll rejoin the N66.

(8) Cross it once more to reach a footpath on the opposite side. Take this to the right and walk alongside the road. You’ll come back to the N66 again.

(9) Cross the road again, then take the partly tarmacked track and head uphill. Then turn left onto the Route de la Chehrale to return to the car park in the village of Grand-Trixhe (S/E).

A lovely walk, mostly through woodland or along unpaved paths, passing through a few small villages.
