The walk suggested here has several facets:
- the national forest, where it is not uncommon to encounter a herd of deer (we were unable to identify the exact species, but they were darker than the usual roe deer and the males had flat antlers similar to those of elk),
- the enormous dunes on the seafront and the usual vegetation in sandy soil,
- the immense sandy beach (be careful at km 10: there is a sandbank offshore at low tide - do not venture out - signs warn that you will not return alive),
- the Zeeland heath below the high dunes of the seafront... where we spotted a roebuck in the distance,
- the sandy moorland area of Zeepeduinen.
The photos taken in the mist on this late winter's day promise even more enjoyment in fine weather.
