The walk starts from Piazza del Popolo. Take the time to walk around it and admire the architectural masterpieces.
(S) Take the famous Via del Corso. This is the main pedestrian thoroughfare connecting Piazza del Popolo to Piazza Venezia further south. Walk down Via Corso and stroll past the various shops and cafés.
(1) Via Corso passes in front of Palazzo Montecitorio. From there, continue and take the street on the right to reach Piazza Colonna. Continue straight ahead.
(2) The street branches off to the left, opposite the Obelisk of Montecitorio. A few steps further on, turn right onto Via in Aquiro. Continue straight ahead. Cross Via della Scrofa to reach Corso del Rinascimento. Walk up this street on the right-hand side, then turn left to reach the Fountain of Neptune.
(3) Walk down Piazza Navona and enjoy the view. Take Corsia Agonale to reach Corso del Rinascimento. Cross it to reach the passageway that leads to Palazzo Carpegna and joins Via degli Staderari. Continue along this street before turning left onto Via della Dogana Vecchia. Take thefirst street on the right, Salita de' Crescenzi. Going down on the right, Via di San Eustachio, the Baths of Nero offer typical architecture. Continue along Piazza di San Eustachio before turning left onto Via del Teatro Valle. As you walk along this street, take the time to admire the Evangelical Church and the architecture.
(4) At the end of Via del Teatro Valle, take the street on the right, then left to arrive at the Fontana di Sant'Andrea della Valle. Leave it behind you and take Corso Vittorio Emanuele II for a few metres before turning left again onto Via del Paradiso. Continue straight ahead to arrive at Via Del Biscione, which is a continuation of the street.
(5) Walk down the street until you reach Campo de'Fiori. Take a break to admire the lively atmosphere of this place. Then take Via dei Giubbonari, opposite Campo de'Fiori. Continue along the street until you reach Giardino di Largo Cairoli.
(6) Piazza Benedetto Cairoli offers a welcome bit of nature, especially in summer. Follow Piazza Benedetto Cairoli around the corner and join Via Arenula, which you must cross to reach Via dei Falegnami. Continue straight ahead, and Via dei Falegnami gives way to Piazza Mattei, where you must continue straight ahead. When you reach Via dei Funari, take the street that branches off slightly to the left: Via dei Delfini, which then widens. Walk up Via dei Delfini, which becomes Via Margana, then Via di Tor Margana. You will eventually come to Via d'Aracoeli, where you should turn right. Take the time to admire the fountain in Piazza dell'Aracoeli.
(7) Then go down Via d'Aracoeli on the right to go around the square and go up Via del Teatro di Marcello to reach Piazza d'Aracoeli. Many bus lines have a stop here. Continue straight on towards Piazza San Marco and take a moment to stroll around. Cross over and walk past the Library of Archaeology and Art History to reach Via del Plebiscito, which you must cross to reach Via del Corso opposite, slightly to the right. Walk up Via del Corso and turn right onto Via dell'Umilita. Continue straight ahead and turn left onto Via delle Vergini. This street narrows and eventually leads to Via delle Muratte. Turn right onto this street and continue until you reach Piazza di Trevi.
(8) Take the time to walk around the fountain and throw in a few coins. Then, take Via Poli and continue straight ahead until you reach Via del Tritone, which you must cross to reach Via Poli. Turn right onto Via del Bufalo and pass in front of the Edicola Sacra Madre di Dio del Ciel Regina before reaching Via di Sant'Andrea delle Fratte, which branches off slightly to the left. Cross Via della Mercede to reach Via di Propaganda, which you should follow until you reach the Spanish Steps.
(9) Piazza di Spagna is full of treasures. Take the time to soak up the unique atmosphere of this place and climb the stairs to enjoy a unique view. Then cross the square to reach the main thoroughfare: Piazza di Spagna. Cross it and take Via del Babuino, which leads to the end of the route.
(10) Before arriving, take the time to admire the Basilica of Santa Maria in Montesanto. If you have a little time, also visit Santa Maria dei Miracoli, not far away. The route ends at Piazza del Popolo (E).
