Description of the route

The walk starts from the P+R Delta car park (free) in Auderghem. Alternatively, you can use the nearby Carrefour car park. The starting point is also close to metro line 5 (Delta station).

(S) From the car park, take "La promenade du chemin de fer" for 800 metres. After the footbridge, turn right, go under the E411 bridge and follow it for 800 metres to Boulevard du Souverain. Turn right and follow the cycle path in the centre of the avenue for 1,750 metres until you reach the roundabout at the entrance to Watermael. Take Rue de la Vénerie on the left and follow it for 500 metres. Turn right, cross Chaussée de La Hulpe and walk along the pond until you reach the entrance to Parc Tournay Solvay.

(2) Visit or walk through Parc Tournay Solvay. Its château has just been renovated (2024), and its rose garden, orchard and vegetable garden are true havens of peace.

Leaving through the main entrance of the park, cross over the railway line, turn left and then immediately right onto Drève des Tumuli to reach the former Boitsfort racecourse, which you take on the right.

(3) The Boitsfort racecourse is now a golf course. The horse tracks have become walking and running paths.

After the old stands, leave the racecourse on the right by taking Avenue de l'Hippodrome for 700 metres. Turn left onto Chemin du Réservoir for 700 metres, then turn left. Continue for 1 kilometre before turning right onto Chemin des Timuli, which you follow for 3.6 kilometres.

Turn left onto Drève des Bonniers. Cross Chaussée de La Hulpe and continue straight ahead until you reach Drève de Bonne-Odeur, which you take on the right. Go under the ring road through the tunnel and take the path on the left that leads into the forest. After 1.5 km, turn left and follow the path for 1.2 km until you reach Carrefour Léonard. Go back under the ring road. At the tunnel exit, turn left, then right onto Chemin des Faisans, then Chemin de Blankedelle, which you follow for 500 m until you reach a star-shaped crossroads.

Turn right for 750 metres, pass under the E411 viaduct and head towards the Rouge Cloître site.

(7) Rouge Cloître is the site of a former abbey. It is a pleasant place to walk. In addition to its typical architecture, the site includes several playgrounds and ponds that are popular with birdwatchers.

Leave the park by walking along the large pond towards Chaussée de Wavre, which you cross via a small path that leads to Parc du Bergoje. At the exit, turn left to reach Avenue Hermann-Debroux, which you take on the right. Cross Boulevard du Souverain and, after 800 metres, turn right onto Promenade du Chemin de Fer to return to the starting point.
