Bogd Khan Uul - Baruun Shireet out-and-back

Very nice walk accessible from the city centre of Ulaanbaatar. We did it at a fast pace due to the short time we had. Fortunately, the toughest part of the hike is under the trees because in summer it can get hot in Ulaanbaatar, as it was. We saw some people enjoying a picnic at the top. If you take your time to enjoy the views and picnic, it should take you six hours.

Notes

There are apparently many variations to this walk, shorter or longer, but it is still a question for me to know if we can camp in the park. If it is possible, then a walk to Manzushir Monastery would be very nice.

Worth a visit

Zaisan Hill

Manzushir Khiid Monastery
