From Cogolin, by car, park at the La Gavotte water treatment plant.
(S/E) Start on the DFCI trail, J-M Morel (south-east). The path climbs steadily through the forest. Ignore all paths on your right or left. Follow the GR®51 red and white markings.
(1) At the intersection, continue to your right and leave the holiday village path on your left. You will come to a concrete reservoir on your left, at a crossroads (elevation 301).
(2) Turn left (south-southeast) and continue along the track (this is the new GR®51 route). Pass two tracks on your left and continue to the junction of several tracks (elevation 326, water cistern).
(3) Leave the track and head south-west to reach the watchtower.
(4) Go around it on the left on a small, more or less well-marked path to reach the oppidum of Montjean (460 m).
(5) Return by descending the access path to the watchtower.
(4) Take the Pradels track on the left.
(6) Continue right on this track to reach the junction of several tracks passed on the way there.
(3) Continue left on the Pradels trail for 350 metres until you reach the sharp right-hand bend where the Val d'Astier trail joins.
(7) Turn left heading north and descend the Val d'Astier track to thesecond cistern, ignoring all the turns to the left and right.
(8) Turn right. Reach the stream and, before it, turn left, pass the memorial stone on your left and continue straight on until the next crossroads. Turn right (north-east) and continue for 150 m until you reach the pumping station.
(9) Take the track on the right (east-southeast) which runs alongside the river to the Gravière bridge.
(10) Cross the small tarmac road and continue straight ahead (north-east). Go through the barrier and follow the dirt track (Chemin des Bergers) which runs alongside the vineyards and meadows until you reach the intersection with the road and the GR®51.
(11) Turn right and walk up to the car park at the water treatment plant (S/E).
