Kirkburton Circular From Upper Cumberworth

This Peak District Walk follows sections of the Barnesley Boundary Walk and the Trans Pennine Trail in wild moorland. Route finding is generally easy and the walk uses well marked paths tracks and a section of minor road to explore the country at the eastern end of the now closed Woodhead Tunnel.

This Peak District walk explores the moors to the northwest of Sheffield and visits an area that sees relatively few walkers. Do select a clear day as navigation can be difficult in poor visibility.

The Cawthorne Boundary Walk is a 14 mile circular walk usually starting at the Village Hall. I have broken the roughly into 4 parts smaller of approximately 3-4 miles radiating from the village, enabling the walker to walk the village boundary in part over 4 walks or the complete boundary in 1. I pick up a public footpath close to the center of the village, opposite Beatson House restaurant and next to the Methodist Chapel.

A Peak District walk that explores the open country and reservoirs to the nothwest of Dunford Bridge. This sector of the National Park sees fewer walkers and you are free to enjoy the superb scenery in relative peace and quiet.

Easy walk that can be very popular around Langsett and Midhope reservoirs.

This Barnsley walk starts in Silkstone and includes an old waggonway, the Cannon Hall country park and sections of the Barnsley Boundary Walk and the Penistone Boundary Walk.

Starting from Bretton Country Park Visitor Centre, this walk will lead you to Horbury Bridge through woodland, Overton and Middlestown.
