Description

(S/E) Starting at the Pheasant pub turn left towards the roundabout and follow the B660 road for a few hundred yards.Turn left at the stile and immediately right. Keep straight following the track over a narrow wooden bridge over the stream, turning left.

(1) Follow the stream to the next turn and cross the concrete bridge. After the bridge, turn right and follow the route around the perimeter of Woodlands Park.Turn right at the gap in the fence and proceed up the hill.

(2) At the top of the hill bare left to the end of the hedgerow and then turn right along the field. When the field ends turn left (pass the felled tree)

(3) At the track cross roads pass through the gap in the hedge onto the Bedford and County Golf Course.
Follow the track keeping left and head towards the log cabin then follow the yellow posts to exit the golf course.
Keeping to the right of the house, pass through the gap in the trees onto the footpath.
Follow the footpath to the end where you have a choice of direction.

(4) Turning right, walk along the edge of the field until you meet a gate on the left.
Pass through the stile next to the gate into the wood.

(5) Walk through Clapham Wood to the information board, keeping left follow the track to the edge of the wood.
Exiting the wood turn right and follow the tarmac path. Cross the estate road and continue to follow the path.

(6) Cross another estate road passing a children's play area. Continue past the lake and bare right into the estate. Turn left and the right. Follow the road to the T junction with Tyne Crescent and turn left.
Follow the road and turn right on Avon Drive back to the starting point, the Pheasant pub. (S/E)
